There are a lot of PvPvE extraction shooters floating around there, but what if you prefer yours to look and feel a little more retro than most? Then you might be the kind of person who would be interested in Project S.U.N.D.I.A.L., an upcoming game by publisher/developer Ice Quake that basically tries to recreate S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in a more old school skin.
In terms of gameplay, this one is full of the usual bullet points, with the promise of high risk extraction gameplay, deep weapon modification features, dynamic regions and weather effects, survival mechanics like hunger and wounds to manage, character progression, and lots of hostile enemies and players, all within a post-apocalyptic Europe.
The game can be played in single-player or in online multiplayer when it goes live on Steam on Saturday, March 27th, 2027. A video showcasing the game can be seen below, and the Steam page does call attention to a playtest that’s upcoming, though information on when that test will begin isn’t available right now.
