Phantom Blade Zero Highlights The Hunt in New Fast-Paced Boss Fight Gameplay

As we wait for Phantom Blade Zero, IGN has released new gameplay for a boss fight against The Hunt. You’ll probably recall the figure during the game’s opening, fighting Soul on a moving cart. It turns out he’s much more persistent than you’d think.

Wielding a pair of one-handed axes connected with a chain, The Hunt specializes in quick attacks and fade-away maneuvers. What seems like a regular acrobatic flip backwards is an opportunity to unleash one of the axes in your general direction. And while his fast playstyle means death by a thousand cuts, it also offers plenty of chances to parry.

But as is customary in the genre, there’s a phase two, and as grotesque as it initially appears, it manifests with two additional arms wielding, you guessed it, two more axes. It would be terrifying if it weren’t so metal. On the bright side, Blood-Steel Form, an alternate appearance for Soul included with the Deluxe Edition, looks pretty cool, and that’s saying something given his base look.

Phantom Blade Zero launches on October 29th for PS5 and PC. It features at least 50 bosses, each unlocking a unique weapon, whether it’s one of 30 main weapons or the 20 secondary weapons. Head here for more details on other enemies and how S-Game is ensuring variety as you delve deeper in.
