Yes, this one draws some extremely obvious parallels, but if you do happen to like the idea of playing in a multiplayer 2-D pixel art RPG where you’re putting monsters into your pocket, then there’s this new choice out there for you in the form of Wildkin. Heck, the site even calls the game one with “a new world” but “a familiar feeling.”
In Wildkin, players start in a village in the region of Fernhaven and wander the world, checking out four regions to explore and finding 52 different creatures to collect, all within a single shared world that can be access for free on any browser. Multiplayer features appear to be pretty bare bones right now, but players can chat among themselves and duel each other in an arena.
To that point, the game calls itself in a beta state, so presumably more features will be added later. For now, what’s on offer is freely available to check out if you happen to be curious.
