SpiritVale is doing something very few other MMORPGs have ever done: It’s launching early access just a few weeks after finishing out its Kickstarter. MassivelyOP readers might remember that Aussio studio Baikun Interactive banked just under $250,000 US through Kickstarter two weeks ago at the top of July, and part of the reason it performed so well on the platform is that it already has a reasonably playable game that early testers could already access and talk about. Now everyone can play, whether you backed it or not.
“Sooo, the moment is here! SpiritVale Early Access release is LIVE NOW!!” Baikun wrote today on Steam. “Thank you all for your support through all these months, we really appreciate it and Phil really does love to read your comments and see you playing his game! We are very proud of SpiritVale and will keep doing our best to give you a great experience. We hope you enjoy the game as much as we do building it. Can expect a lot of content in the upcoming weeks-months! If you find any bugs, have any suggestion. If you want to report a player, use our Discord. Thank you again, thank you to all the members of the team Artist and Moderators! If servers are crashing, be patient!”
Indeed. We’re expecting the game to stay in early access for half a year to a year as further development continues, but it already has seven classes, multiplayer parties, more than 35 maps, and “core systems like skill progression, class switching, and loot” all up and running already, though the devs do warn you might see some placeholders. The game is $15 on Steam.
