WARDOGS Early Access Begins on September 10; Developer Outlines Why You Shouldn’t Buy In

Perhaps Bulkhead knew that we’re only going to get stubborn about trying something out the more we’re told not to? Whatever the case, the developer’s latest video about WARDOGS, its upcoming tactical FPS, is a twist on the usual marketing ploys we’ve seen from talented studios.

You see, this one’s about reasons you shouldn’t be buying the game. It’s an excellent way to set expectations, with development team members offering a lot of transparency on what to expect content-wise and the pricing strategy between Early Access and the final 1.0 release. You can get in for $39.99, which increases to $49.99 after the meta-game has been added. The final 1.0 release will cost $59.99, although the developers remain confident it’ll be more than worth it by then.

Additionally, it won’t run at native 4K and 240 FPS (in case you’re expecting those numbers), and monetization won’t affect progression since the goal is to reinvest any profits back into the game. There’s a lot more to unpack in the full video, which we’ve left down below, and we’re quite impressed by the honesty and ethical approach.

WARDOGS enters Early Access on September 10th. Preorders get access to a Closed Beta Weekend beginning August 21st. Check out some more extensive gameplay here.
