While The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is slated to be a massive update for the game, bringing in higher visual fidelity, improved performance, and even some gameplay changes, CD Projekt hadn’t revealed what kind of PC hardware would be needed to run it. Now, thanks to its Battle.net store listing, the company has confirmed precisely the PC specs needed to run it.
At minimum, players will need an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB, an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB, or an Intel Arc A580 GPU, and 12 GB of RAM. The recommended specs for the title are an Intel Core i7-8700K or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X CPU, a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER, a Radeon 6600 XT, or an Arc B580 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM. Storage requirements have also been upgraded, with the company noting that players will need an SSD with around 70 GB free.
Interestingly, the Remastered release – a free update for everyone who already owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition – has led to CD Projekt RED raising the price of the Complete Edition in preparation. While it was previously priced at $39.99, it now has a price tag of $49.99 – the same price as the Remastered release on Battle.net.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered was announced earlier this week. The number of enhancements it will bring to the title is quite vast, and even includes gameplay changes, like more fluid controls and revamped animations. On the visual side of things, monsters and environments will be more detailed, and there will also be improvements made to the game’s lighting and foliage.
There are also several technical enhancements coming with the Remastered release, like improved HDR support, subsurface scattering, DLSS 4.5 support, and FSR 4.0 support. Xbox players will also enjoy the fact that the game will support Xbox Play Anywhere.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is also slated to include a few platform-exclusive features. While CD Projekt RED hasn’t yet revealed more details about these, it likely involves some kind of support for motion controls or potentially the ability to use one of the JoyCon 2 controllers as a mouse. All versions of the Remastered release will also include the Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions along with the base game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is coming to all platforms on September 29th.
In the meantime, CD Projekt RED has also been working on a brand-new expansion for The Witcher 3. Dubbed Songs of the Past, the expansion was showcased during the studio’s Gamescom stream, giving us our first look at its Letten setting. While the earlier parts of the playthrough revolved around showcasing the peaceful new region, the latter parts showed off some of the fights, as well as progress along a quest dubbed A Bed of Thorns.
The gameplay demo was a follow-up to a trailer for Songs of the Past from earlier this week, which showed Letten being in the midst of a festival.
