Today is an arguably big one if you’re the sort of person who enjoys comfy-cozy communal MMOs. That’s because Qloud Games’ multiplayer life sim Loftia has now officially started its early access run, bringing the crowdfunded title into players’ hot little hands on a wider scale for the first time.
“Set across a vibrant world of floating islands, Loftia is designed around community, sustainability, creativity, and human connection. Players can build a home, grow crops using sustainable farming systems, rescue animals, take on cooperative adventures, and contribute to large-scale community projects as part of a living world that continues to grow alongside its players. Players can enjoy this adventure alone or with friends, in a shared world everyone can enjoy at their own pace.”
Cooperation and co-existence is at the center of Loftia’s whole game loop, as players live among each other in neighborhoods, work together to solve obstacle course-like Adventures, come together to build large-scale projects, and gather together for minigames or to hang out in their own little houses, all done up in a bright and colorful visual style and an eye on recycling and sustainability in its solarpunk future tech, all while promising mysteries to uncover beneath it all.
Loftia’s early access will set you back $30, though it will have a 17% launch discount that brings it down to $25. The game is available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, though a Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for sometime later. As for what’s next over the course of early access, Qloud talks up future additions like new NPCs, quests, islands, outfits and decorations, the Study Cafe, Clubs, and friendship levels with NPCs to name a few.
