Yeah, as that headline suggests, there are a lot of things to untie about this one that crossed our desk, so let’s go ahead and pull together what we know. The Dark Machine IP itself has a few facets to it, including a manga that’s scheduled to debut this month and an anime called Dark Machine: The Animation planned for October, but before all of that there was Dark Machine: The Game for Web3, which was first announced in 2024 and is yet to release, but as its name suggests, is linked to the blockchain and NFTs.

But that’s not what we’re here to talk about; instead we’re focusing on the non-blockchain version that was just unveiled this week called Dark Machine: The Game. This action shooter offers up PvE combat against hordes of enemies, or PvP battles between teams of up to seven players per side, while its main gameplay mechanic is a “shift up” function that lets different mecha grow in one of three sizes, while the chassis themselves are all highly customizable and battlefields feature destructible elements.

The game has a release window of sometime in 2027, with a Steam page online for those who want to keep tabs on the version of the game that isn’t tied to a grift. There’s also a cinematic trailer to take in below if you’re interested.
