ARC Raiders is Seemingly Adding a FromSoftware Special Next Week: Toxic Swamps

A proper roadmap for 2026 has yet to roll out for Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders, but take heart: a new condition arrives next week. Non-FromSoftware fans, say hello to the “Toxic Swamp,” a level often seen in titles like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and more.

Discovered by a Reddit user, who changed their date to January 19th and viewed the Trials, it apparently involves delivering Thermal Rocks. The challenge is only applicable on Toxic Swamp Maps, but those brave enough to best these conditions will receive double the Rank Points.

Of course, that’s not all. By going even further, the Redditor also discovered a new event planned for the week of January 26th. Players must apparently “keep air purifiers powered on” in Toxic Swamp Maps, once again netting double points for the same. Other aspects of this “event” have yet to be confirmed, but stay tuned for an official announcement – or sudden drop – by Embark Studios in the meantime.

Toxic Swamp is the second new map condition to arrive in the extraction shooter since launch. The first was Cold Snap, added in last month’s update of the same name, which sapped players’ health unless they took shelter from the storm.

Outside of this, a new Expedition is on the horizon, hot on the heels of the first, which saw a “little over” one million players resetting their progress. That said, Embark wants to incentivize more players to take the plunge. Learn more about that here.
