No, Cronos: Lazarus, the expansion for Bloober Team’s sci-fi survival horror, still doesn’t have a release date. However, the developer has released a gameplay presentation showcasing exactly how to fight like a Pathfinder. The answer? As ruthless and standoffish as possible.

To recap: The Pathfinder – who you’ll probably know better as the Warden in The New Dawn – has two key skills. Teleportation lets him travel significant distances to reposition in combat, though it’s also useful for surmounting ruined environments with ease. Decoy lets him enter stealth mode while a holographic copy distracts enemies.

There’s also a third ability called Tracker Mode. Aim down sights, press Right Bumper/R1, and you’ll fire at a specific location, which then detonates shortly after. Combine this with Decoy, and you can lure several Orphans to a single spot to take them down in one fell swoop.

But even when factoring in the gunplay, the Pathfinder’s gameplay is significantly more aggressive and fast-paced. Lining up several enemies to pierce through them with Gladius and turning invisible to get behind an enemy to shotgun them in the back is satisfying, as is simply walking up to flame them.

So not having a release date, even though Cronos: Lazarus is out this Fall for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, has us on edge. Stay tuned for more updates, and in the meantime, check out even more gameplay here.
