Developer Eclipse Glow Games has revealed more details about its upcoming title, Tides of Annihilation. During the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026, the studio revealed quite a few gameplay details about the action-adventure game, like how each one of the in-game knights will offer a variety of gameplay styles throughout Gwendolyn’s journey.

The showcase also includes the first appearance of the Lancelot knight, which focuses quite a bit on fast-paced swordplay.

The story of Tides of Annihilation has been described by the studio as being inspired by the Arthurian legend. Rather than just repeating the same story, however, Eclipse Glow Games wanted to put its own spin on the narrative. To achieve this, the story has been re-examined from the perspective of the developers.

The studio describes protagonist Gwendolyn as being just a regular person who finds herself in the midst of an otherworldly invasion. Producer Kun Fu notes that “she is thrown into a hostile and malicious other world.” Along the way, however, she learns that she is not alone and starts making allies who help her realize that she is a strong commander who has a role to play in the coming battles.

The gameplay showcased in the video is said to be from the middle of the game. This also means that the combat encounters are more challenging than what players would face in its earlier parts.

Tides of Annihilation is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. There is currently no release date, and the studio has said that it will reveal more details as work on the project continues.
