With all the Gamescom excitement, it was almost easy to forget that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is coming out this year. Thankfully, Auroch Digital served up a great reminder with a new gameplay trailer full of high-octane combat. It also confirms a launch on October 14th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also in the works.
The trailer reveals the big bad Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath will be facing: Vashtorr the Arkifane, a Greater Daemon of Chaos. What makes him interesting is that he was born in the Warp with no involvement from the Chaos Gods. So everyone you tear through, whether it’s Chaos Space Marines or his own cult, contributes to his machinations.
If the final battle against him wasn’t hype enough already, Auroch Digital confirmed that Mick Gordon will compose the track. Described as “full of dread and danger,” it’s also perhaps the best fit considering his legendary work on DOOM and DOOM Eternal.
A free demo is available for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, offering a look at both characters and their abilities. You can also check out our impressions here. The developer will be revealing more details in the weeks leading up to launch, so stay tuned for updates.
