        • Crimson Desert’s latest update confirms those who played at launch had it the worst

Crimson Desert players rejoice! Developer Pearly Abyss is finally adding one of the role-playing game’s most requested features, nearly four months after its release earlier this year. Cross-saves are finally here.

Patch 1.14.00 was released Thursday, July 16, and introduces the cross-save feature on all platforms except macOS, which will receive the update at a later date. To take advantage of the feature, players will need to select the new cross-save option in the game’s save menu, which will give instructions on how to access the cross-save page. From here, players will need to log in to their respective platform account and link it to a Pearl Abyss ID. If you don’t have an ID, you can create one. After linking is successful, players will return to the game and press the refresh option in the cross-save settings. Finally, select a cross-save slot at the bottom right of the save menu and save your data. Congratulations, you can now play on a single Crimson Desert save file across all platforms.

There are some restrictions on the feature. Only one account per platform (Epic Games, PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox) can be linked to a single Pearl Abyss ID. Furthermore, only one cross-save slot is provided per ID, and it must be saved manually. You can unlink and re-link platform accounts all you want, but unlinking every platform account from a Pearl Abyss ID will permanently delete any cross-save data from the cloud. If you plan on unlinking all platforms but want to retain your cross-save, make sure to save it in a local slot.

While the cross-save feature is the most note-worthy part of patch 1.14.00, it isn’t the only update Crimson Desert received. Though the game’s wonky controls aren’t completely fixed just yet. Here’s a full list of improvements, via Pearl Abyss’ patch notes.
