The Game Awards 2025: Guild Wars 2, Soulframe, Diablo IV, Warframe, and more MMOsy news

Tonight’s Geoff Keighley extravaganza, The Game Awards as broadcast from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater, will indeed have game awards, though very likely not much our readers will care about. Notably, best “ongoing” game (bizarre) at least has Final Fantasy XIV and No Man’s Sky nominated alongside Fortnite, Helldivers 2, and Marvel Rivals. The same group, minus Marvel Rivals but plus Baldur’s Gate 3, is up for best community support. Split Fiction, Destiny Rising, Wuthering Waves, Battlefield 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Arc Raiders, Elden Ring Nightreign, Peak, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, CSGO 2, and Genshin Impact are also up for awards. Yeah, it’s one of those years.

What you do care (at least slightly more) about is the deluge of previews and videos and (yes) commercials we’re about to get, so of course, we’re going to liveblog the marketing hoopla to corral all the important stuff right here. Watch along with us!

Guild Wars 2

ArenaNet’s released its TGA trailer for Guild Wars 2! Hey, ArenaNet delivered during the preshow, apparently. The accompanying PR says the game topped its Q4 all-time peak concurrency and that Visions of Eternity “outperformed last year’s Janthir Wilds expansion in sales revenue.”

Soulframe

Digital Extremes has a gorgeous new teaser out for Soulframe. Short!

Might we assume that Larian’s Divinity will indeed have multiplayer?

4:Loop

JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot unveiled a new shooter called 4:Loop. Yes, four-player co-op.

No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky took best ongoing game, and yes it’s still an idiotic category, but NMS deserves some love for this specific idea (pumping out content forever for free), so we’re here for it.

RUST Mobile

Tencent’s RUST Mobile dropped a trailer heralding its global pre-registration and closed beta.

Orbitals

Orbitals looks super cute – Nintendo Switch 2 only, and only two-person co-op, but hey.
