It’s always exciting when a game show announces Prime Time, and THE FINALS is no different.

We were delighted when Embark told us about the new approach to its destructible environments, which is already poised to add new wrinkles to a very chaotic gameplay loop. But there’s more coming, including the new Infiltrator playstyle for those who prefer Light, and it brings some interesting tools to the table.

You can blend into the background by mimicking objects in the environment with the Mimic Device, for starters, while the Translocator lets you swap positions with them, which we’re sure a lot of you will find very creative uses for. True Sight lets you see enemies through walls while you plan a stealthy takedown or an ambush.

All that sneaking around will come in handy in the new Solo Showdown mode, where it’s everyone for themselves in a 12-contestant showdown that brings randomized mini-modes to three fast-paced rounds that you must survive at all costs. May the best contestants win! All in all, it’s an exciting round of new additions to an already solid gameplay loop, but that’s not all. Remastered arenas and a host of other additions are also on the table in a long list. The update’s live now, and you can bet we’ll be in the spotlight, trying our best to be the last one standing.
