The Diablo 4 Amazon class arrives in 2027, but not before all three Prime Evils make their presence known - The iconic warrior dressed in red and gold.

There’s a new Diablo 4 class on the way, and it’s an old favorite. With our journey to Skovos in Lord of Hatred, it seemed strange that Diablo 2’s Amazon didn’t make the cut alongside the returning Paladin and newcomer the Warlock. That’s set to change, however, as the javelin-wielding warrior is coming to the RPG some time in the first half of 2027, and she’ll be accompanied by the introduction of her signature weapon type. Before that, however, the Lord of Terror is making some time in his schedule to return for an anniversary special.

Blizzard might have just announced Diablo 5 at Blizzcon 2026, but that’s still years away, so don’t worry about it for now. Diablo 4 Senior game Director Brent Gibson and Senior Game Producer Tiffany Wat promise that there’s still plenty of life (and loot) in the old dog yet. Wat notes that it didn’t take long after Lord of Hatred arrived for players to start asking, “Where is the Amazon?”

“Trust me, we were all asking the same thing,” Gibson responds. “In Lord of Hatred, the vision for the Amazons really took shape, and we realized there was a huge opportunity we couldn’t pass up. So next year, one of Diablo’s most iconic warriors arrives in Diablo 4.” He notes that she’s an expert in “speed, precision, and absolute control over the battlefield,” fighting with bows as well as the new javelin weapon type.

The pair also confirm that the 30th anniversary of the legendary Hell-bothering series will be marked by the launch of Diablo 4: Season of Hell’s Legacy on Tuesday September 15. This update “brings back the Prime Evils, including the Lord of Terror himself,” for a landmark celebration. Even Deckard Cain is set to show up, somehow, and there will be all manner of rewards, including “gear inspired by every era of Diablo.”

The seasonal questline will have us defeating echoes of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto to collect three Splinters of Evil. You can then choose to bear one of these on your person, causing “an iconic power associated with that Prime Evil” to periodically erupt from you during combat – although it makes you more vulnerable to their influence. Each Splinter can be upgraded through specific activities, and you’ll be able to switch them out as you please.

The Diablo 4 Amazon class pack arrives in “the first half of 2027.” We’ll be getting a deeper dive into the new class as part of the Diablo developer showcase at Blizzcon, so be sure to tune into that if you want a closer look at exactly how it works.
