Way back in June of last year, we covered an upcoming MMO called Farever that actually looked hella cute. Shiro Games has it listed on Steam as an MMO, a single-player game, and an online co-op game, though the press release calls it an online multiplayer action RPG. If we shove enough words in it there, the game can be anything you want it to be! We kid; it actually looks cute, as if someone had said “what if Palia but with MMO group combat” and then built it.
Anyway, we bring all this up again because Shiro has announced this week that it’s bringing the game to early access next month on May 6th, and you’re gonna want it because we want it.
“Set in the mystical land of Siagarta, Farever introduces a colorful and evolving world of adventure, discovery, and danger,” the studio says. “The journey unfolds across sprawling regions filled with dungeons, hidden wonders, and rewarding secrets. Solo or alongside others, players climb towering cliffs, glide across the skies, dive into underground caves, and uncover powerful gear to shape their legends.”
“Siagarta spans diverse regions, each featuring unique environments, puzzles, platforming challenges, and valuable rewards. Activities scale based on group size, supporting both solo and multiplayer experiences. Town hubs provide access to crafting professions such as cooking and blacksmithing. By specializing in a trade and gathering rare materials, players can craft powerful equipment to aid them on their journey.”
The press release promises four classes for early access with more on the way at launch. When is launch? Unknown, though the Steam page suggests early access will last “about a year.” Also en route along the way is more regions and biomes, more dungeons and trials, more baddies, social and seasonal events, guilds, new gear, new skills, mounts and gliders, and a broader level cap. The devs do say that the current version is a “balanced and stable game, ready to be explored and enjoyed.”
Beta signups are through the lil green “request to join” button on Steam. We don’t have a price yet, only the note that there will be one.
