You’re not going to be shocked by the news that Aion 2 is officially going global this year. It had a massive launch in Korea last year (in spite of all the riots), and that’s just NCsoft’s M.O. nowadays. But it’s official as of this this morning.
“NC America officially confirmed today that AION 2, the action-packed, open-world MMORPG, will arrive later this year on Steam and PURPLE platforms,” the company’s press release says. “The AION 2 development team has invested deeply in building a version suited for global PC players and will be actively engaging with Western players and media throughout the year.”
“First, the AION 2 global version is built specifically for PC. Second, servers will be hosted locally in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. AION 2 will be localized to 10 different languages players can choose from in-game: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.”
More info is expected at some point in May, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see it timed with the investor call in a few weeks. In the meantime, you can wishlist it on Steam and sign up for the newsletter on the official site.
