Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games you’ve never heard of! It’s our randomly published look at the smorgasbord of titles that are within our general orbit that otherwise might slip by, and this time we’ve got another fun little buffet for you to feast on.

Runeward Online

You might have already seen this one cross your path if you were flipping through the Steam Bullet Fest last week. Runeward Online is a multiplayer game that blends online RPG and bullet hell shooter, all built with cooperative play in mind. Developer FatHatCat promises lots of depth in terms of character customization, a wide arsenal of weapons, and a persistent online world. The only thing not tied down is a launch date. Yet.

Polity

This is less about a new game and more like a check-in on a game we’ve covered a few times earlier, but just for review, Polity is a colony and life sim MMO that fully released back in 2024 after a three year-long early access. Ever since then, updates stalled after August 2024, but the game is now back on the radar with a “new era” patch that released this past May, which smooths out gameplay, improves its tutorial, and adds new things like more professions and a giant crab quest.

Misa Online

Finally we have Misa Online, an indie MMORPG that promises a world ravaged by strange portal stones falling from the sky and inviting encroaching threats onto its world. Details are still a bit thin, but the game promises lots of PvE encounters and challenges, some PvP content, and character progression by way of crafting and gear enhancement. Developer Misa Games has only just announced itself this past April and currently has no release window, but it is selling pre-alpha access and can be wishlisted on Steam.
