Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games you’ve never heard of! And we’re once again spotlighting MMORPGs all the way down in this roundup. We’re either seeing a surge here or the extraction game bubble has already mostly burst. Who can say.
Project Sunderfall
Leading things off is Project Sunderfall, a very early-looking MMORPG that describes itself as a “stylized whimsical fantasy MMORPG” that hangs its hat on “smooth combat,” crafting, exploration, and some PvP likely involving the game’s two factions. A recent preview video offers a look at the Vampire class that will be in the game, which utilizes a big sword and blood magic, as one might expect.
Moonbound
Up next we have Moonbound, a game that calls itself a title inspired by both MapleStory games. This isometric MMO offers up action combat, the ability to purchase and decorate a house, and a narrative that’s centered around mysterious stones that fall from the sky when the moon is near, some of which hatch. Also, players can ride a pig, which the developer says was “non-negotiable.” Agreed, indie MMO dev. Agreed. This one plans a Steam playtest sometime soon.
Hana
Finally on our list this time around is Hana, a turn-based MMORPG that casts players as the Hanari, a race of elves whose civilization has been decimated and must try to rebuild from the ashes. The game promises PvP and PvE activities, dungeons to delve, and plenty of monsters to fight in tactical combat. The game is planning its first alpha sometime in February 2027, though players should bear in mind that access will require a founder’s pack purchase, though developer 3NA promises that cash shop currency provided in these bundles does get reset every wipe and testing phase up to launch.
