If you happen to be a fan of high-speed movement FPS titles like Ultrakill or Neon White but always wanted to play them in multiplayer, then your specific interests are at last being served by Vincit, an in-development single-player and co-op shooter from developer Cowboy & Clown Games and publisher Xiombarg that’s got all of the swift movement you could want, plus parrying and spellcasting mechanics, all done up in a striking manga style.
“The world shattered when humanity pushed the Aether too far – a force that bends time and tears reality apart. Our hero and his crew set out to piece the world back together, only to walk straight into a trap laid by the vassals of the Yellow King – heralds of chaos hell-bent on finishing what the Aether started.”
One of the primary hooks to Vincit’s gameplay is its magic-centered bullet customization system, where shots can be imbued with a host of effects including raw elements, healing, or just straight-up nails to create various effects that impact friend, foe, and environment alike. Players can also punch bullets in mid-air to blend their effects, all while attempting to figure out enemy resistances and weaknesses. Luckily, this blazing fast action can be played with up to four players at once.
Vincit is heading for a closed playtest sometime in the end of this month, and is also offering up new additions for meeting wishlisting milestones when it makes its release sometime next year. In the meantime, a gameplay video is below. Just know that it has a lot of fast first-person movement. And we do mean a lot.
