After a delay due to a tsunami warning in Japan, the Monster Hunter Showcase recently aired, showcasing everything players can expect from the franchise. First up is Monster Hunter Wilds, with its next Title Update going live on December 16th and adding Gogmazios, the game’s first Elder Dragon. And it is massive.

Besides stomping around, it can unleash a powerful breath laser to tear apart its surroundings. At one point, Gogmazios even soars into the sky, firing off a laser before diving back down (which necessitates taking cover). It’s certainly cinematic, but its addition doesn’t just mean a new armor set – there will also be new Gogma Artian Weapons for players to craft, which contain a bonus skill and random group skill.

Other notable features include Armor Transcendence for further upgrades (and “powering up” rarity 5 and 6 armor decoration slots), more optional Advanced Quests, and the Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn from December 19th to January 14th, 2026. Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad is also coming on December 24th, run on time for Christmas.

As for the future, Capcom is adding Arch-Tempered Arkveld in Update 1.041 on February 18th, 2026. There will be more Advanced Quests and even a special collaboration with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
