Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games you’ve never heard of! Today, we’ve got a couple of militaristic-styled games and a critter collector title, so we’ll be breaking up the shootymans games with the cute one. Just as a sort of palate cleanser in-between. We’re considerate like that.

Polystrike

We’ll start with Polystrike, a top-down tactical shooter from Ukrainian developer Robin Entertainment that sees two teams coordinating together in order to secure an evolving objective known as the Iron Fish. The game lauds classless gameplay, using sight and sound to find targets of interest, changing maps, and an overall factional bent. A release date is yet to be announced, but it can be wishlisted on Steam now.

World of Slime

This is obviously the cutesy one: World of Slime is a critter-collector MMORPG that sees players roaming the world to capture slime creatures, either out in the field, through fishing, or via synthesis, then bring their slimes and team up with other players for either dungeon delves, boss fights, or some PvP, all in a casual and colorful setting. This one will be offering a demo starting August 26th. (Cheers, Nathan!)

Wardogs

Finally there’s Wardogs, a large scale team-based FPS from developer Bulkhead, which is headed for early access on Thursday, September 10th. This one pits three teams of up to 100 players in a large open map, combining infantry and various vehicles in king of the hill-style matches, all with destructible environments and freedom for players to take up roles and secure points. Players can pre-order to get into the early access, but Bulkhead has actually put out a video offering 10 reasons not to buy in early, from thin content to less arcade-y gameplay loops.
