At last night’s Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, we noted that NCsoft appeared to have splashed out on its appearance at the show – and we’re not even talking about Guild Wars 3 here. Nope, in fact, the South Korean gaming giant brought two of its other in-production multiplayer games and trailers to fund Geoff Keighley’s weird plastic suit collection, in addition to Aion 2, which we covered at length already. So let’s look at those two other games, shall we?

First, there’s Like or Die, which is the newly announced name of Project Bonfire, which you might recall from its teases during NCsoft investor calls. “Currently in development, Like or Die is a next-generation team-based survival shooter that places players in the role of streamers broadcasting their matches across the cosmic streaming platform, Quaya Stream,” the company says. “Teams must work together to gather resources and reshape the battlefield with blocks, outlasting their opponents to become the final surviving squad.”

“The ONL trailer revealed Like or Die’s gameplay features, including the game’s innovative Block Action system, which allows players to create structures and reshape the battlefield in real time. Teams use their blocks to strategically create opportunities to dramatically shift the momentum of a match and destroy the opponent’s ‘Nexus.’”

There’s no launch or testing windows just yet, so stay tuned on that one. It’s already on Steam for wishlisting, and the trailers are…. trippy and graphic at the same time.

Meanwhile, Cinder City isn’t fully new; we’ve been covering that one for a while, and it even just ran a pre-alpha earlier this month. The trailer is new, however! “Told from the viewpoint of its distinctly different characters, CINDER CITY’s trailer interweaves perspectives depicting a 21st-century world falling into destruction after a brutal alien invasion.”
