Welcome back to another roundup of MMOs You’ve Never Heard Of! In this roundup, we’ve got car combat, a visually pretty MUD, and a very indie MMORPG from a solo dev in Argentinia. So another salad of items, basically.
Fumes
We’ll start with the car combat game Fumes, an early access title from the appropriately named Fumes Team that sees players driving a customizable car around a wasteland, blowing up enemies, fighting massive bosses, and taking cargo to locations around the map. While the game has started life as a single-player title, it’s adding co-op play on July 16th, so now it drives right into our wheelhouse. Or through it, really.
Battle for Embolia
Next is Battle for Embolia, an indie MMORPG effort from the solo dev running Ager Games that promises fast-paced combat, classes that include a Zombie Warrior and Ninja, and activities for PvPers and groups. The game is planning to enter free-to-play early access on July 3rd, offering 10 areas, a raid boss, and three classes to start.
Enarian Online
Finally we’ve got that earlier referenced MUD known as Enarian Online. Described by its developer as a “rich text-based action RPG that blends the depth and imagination of classic MUDs with the relentless progression and build-driven gameplay of modern ARPGs,” this one promises to capture quick decision-making and active combat despite its text-based gameplay, along with five classes, procedurally generated worlds, and multiplayer co-op. The game offers a demo for the curious. (Cheers, hiphophush!)
