JDM: Ph4ntom Driver is an interesting spin-off title from JDM: Japanese Drift Master, taking its gameplay and blending it with a supernatural setting that sets it apart from its contemporaries. Long story short, Demon King Shuten-dōji has corrupted the Spirit World, and you need to stem the rising tide with your wheels.
An announcement teaser (courtesy of IGN) provides a glimpse of the action, granting us a quick look at the unique art style and the demons we’ll be taking down with our skills behind the wheel. It’s definitely one of the more creative arcade racing game premises we’ve seen, and we can’t wait to get started.
You wield the power of Hakai and other tools at your disposal, but your car is your biggest weapon in a single-player campaign that’s sure to test you in unexpected ways. This one’s still a while away from its final release (an official date is missing), but it’s open for wishlisting on Steam if you’re already as intrigued as we are.
