If you had to guess the most successful title of 2026, it would probably be Resident Evil Requiem or even EA Sports FC 27. However, that honor reportedly goes to Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 6, at least according to Alinea Analytics. It estimates the currently Xbox console exclusive racer has sold 8.8 million copies and earned $579.2 million in revenue.
About 56.7 percent of its reported revenue is apparently from Xbox consoles and PC. Over 10 million have seemingly played through Game Pass, with 1.3 million purchasing the Premium Edition Update (totaling $82 million in revenue). With concerns that the subscription service is eating into first-party sales, especially in light of Gears of War: E-Day, it’s good to see Playground Games emerge unscathed.
Despite a bigger launch than Forza Horizon 5, the latter is apparently still ahead in terms of overall revenue, crossing $1 billion. However, that’s been out far longer and launched on other platforms, including PS5. With that audience already eagerly awaiting Forza Horizon 6’s PS5 release, it could very well shoot past that milestone in record time.
Heck, it may even beat Gran Turismo 7, which has reportedly earned $834 million in its lifetime. Time will tell, so stay tuned and check out our review of the base game before the PS5 version launches on January 26th, 2027.
