Grand Theft Auto 6 will reportedly be released on Windows PC early next year, a new report claims.
On Tuesday, GamesBeat reported GTA 6 will land on PC “within the first three months of 2027.” That’s according to “four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans” who anonymously spoke with GamesBeat. Rockstar has not officially commented on its potential plans to bring GTA 6 to PC.
GTA 6 is slated for a Nov. 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Rockstar famously keeps PC gamers waiting as it prioritizes console launches first for its games. Grand Theft Auto 5 came out in September 2013 for consoles and took over a year and a half to arrive on PC in April 2015, for example. Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar’s last brand-new single-player game, took a a year to be released on PC after its console launch.
If GTA 6 does end on PC during the first quarter of 2027, it would mean PC players would only have to wait a few months extra to get their hands on what is shaping up to be the biggest game of the generation. Fans have long assumed a PC version is on the way, even if Rockstar hasn’t said anything about it, and recent new modding guidelines from Rockstar have only given PC gamers further hope.
GTA 6 multiplayer might arrive in 2027 too
A Windows PC launch for Grand Theft Auto 6 might not be the only time the game has a notable release in 2027. When it opened up pre-orders, Rockstar described GTA 6 a “single-player experience,” raising questions about Grand Theft Auto Online. Last month, an update about GTA 6 came from an unexpected source. During a chat with Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said the platform will receive a big bump in viewers “next year when [Rockstar] launch[es] multiplayer.” Just like with a potential PC launch, Rockstar has not officially commented on a potential online component to GTA 6.
While Rockstar has been trying to keep its cards close to its vest when it comes to doling out GTA 6 information, a hacking group has been sharing GTA 6 leaks left and right. Recently Cyberleek posted videos of both Jason and Lucia, GTA 6‘s protagonists, naked in the game. Cyberleek has tried to capitalize on the attention to pump up its memecoin, a move that has backfired.
