If you’re going to play an MMO that plays itself, you might as well go all-in and make an idle game. And while some of these are on Steam and most of them are on mobile, what about an idle game on your browser? That way you can tickle your MMORPG leveling brain and look like you’re doing work at the same time. Luckily, Frax: Rupture is providing precisely that.
Described by its developer on Bluesky as a “semi-idle isometric pixelart RPG,” Frax fires up right in your browser and sees your cute little sprite walk the variety of floating islands that piece themselves together bit by bit. The character does appear to operate pretty much on its own accord, though player input is required to equip any items dropped, and the character does appear to prioritize tasks you tell it, such as gathering from nodes or fighting monsters.
The game is currently in an open alpha state, so if you happen to have a little monitor space to dedicate to a little idle MMO gaming, then it can be played through this link and perhaps give the dev some feedback. Otherwise, you can see some of the gameplay in action in the video below.
