Nintendo’s Leaks Could Become “A Major Priority Going Forward,” Claims Former Senior PR Manager

Nintendo’s seemingly always had problems with leaks, and its former senior public relations manager at Nintendo of America, Kit Ellis, has something to say about the recent onslaught of revelations about its plans for 2026 and beyond.

Popular leaker NateTheHate dropped quite the bombshell earlier this week, revealing a long list of titles that the Japanese behemoth had planned for the Switch 2 over the course of this year. It includes but isn’t limited to a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and a new 3D Mario platformer that’s reportedly out in 2027.

Ellis has weighed in on the situation, claiming that Nintendo isn’t too happy about the whole thing. A fairly justified sentiment, considering it might have had a planned campaign for promoting all of the titles that NateTheHate name-dropped.

“I can promise you that Nintendo is absolutely furious about this. My mind goes to Nintendo and how they really have a problem with leaks right now that they don’t seem to be able to solve.”

Ellis could be referring to the Switch 2’s leaks, which he also commented on back when that situation was unfolding. But the interesting part now is his claim that Nintendo might be taking steps to remedy the situation.

“This just feels like uncharted territory for Nintendo. They’ve had leakers before, and they’ve dealt with leakers before. This feels like a different situation, and I don’t know what’s going to happen next. But for the company overall, this is going to become a major priority going forward.”

Of course, we’d take all of this with a generous pinch of salt until the company issues an official statement, but the latest leak might have been a tipping point for Nintendo. We’ll find out in the coming months, especially since the next general Direct is allegedly scheduled for June.
