Kickstarted cozy van life multiplayer sandbox Outbound has enchanted no shortage of players; that’s a count even including our own Justin, who has not been seen by Society over the past week owing to his adventures in the game. If you’re one of the many sucked in by the gentle magic of Van Lyfe 4 Lyfe (may not be the actual title) you’ll be happy to know that the full game is just around the corner with the launch date announced as April 23rd.
“Silver Lining Interactive and Square Glade Games are thrilled to announce that Outbound, one of the most anticipated cozy games of the year, will launch globally on April 23, 2026. The excitement reached a fever pitch during this afternoon’s Nintendo Indie World showcase, where Outbound not only announced its release date – April 23, 2026 – but also shadow-dropped its player acclaimed demo on Nintendo Switch 1 & Nintendo Switch 2. Whether you’re at home or on the go, your journey begins today.”
The news comes on the heels of the announced price tag of $25. If you want a survival and exploration game that’s only a “survival game” in the broadest strokes (there’s no threats and no pressure, just lots of things to explore and a cozy vibe), this is going to be the game for you when it launches late next month. Or if you are just a real easy mark for driving around in a van. We can’t blame you, either. It looks like a nice van.
