Sentinels has signed Brock “brawk” Somerhalder for the 2027 VCT season after his championship run with NRG. The move follows the arrival of OXY and completes the organization’s revised VCT Americas roster.
Sentinels has signed Brock “brawk” Somerhalder ahead of the 2027 VALORANT Champions Tour season, adding the player who won the 2025 world championship and tournament MVP honors with NRG. The organization confirmed the move Tuesday, Nov. 3, and the signing completes its revised lineup for the VCT Americas competition.
The transfer follows Sentinels’ addition of Francis “OXY” Hoang, who joined one day earlier after spending three years with Cloud9. Brawk is expected to take the initiator role. The two arrivals replace Jerrwin “Jerrwin” Gill and Jonah “JonahP” Pulice, who departed Sentinels at the end of October.
Brawk’s championship record
Brawk spent the previous stage of his career with NRG. During the 2025 season, he helped the team win the World Championship in Paris, where NRG defeated Fnatic 3-2 in the grand final. Brawk was also named the event’s MVP, with his Sova play and use of the Odin forming part of his tournament profile.
In a farewell message connected to his departure from NRG, Brawk said he chose not to renew his contract because he makes career decisions that give him a long-term opportunity to compete for additional trophies. NRG went on to finish third at Masters Santiago, second at the Esports World Cup and tied for fifth and sixth at Champions Shanghai during the 2026 season.
Sentinels rebuild after 2026 results
The roster changes come after Sentinels failed to qualify for Masters Santiago, Masters London or Champions Shanghai in 2026. The team finished tied for ninth and 10th at both VCT Americas Kickoff and Stage 1. Its Stage 2 run ended in the Play-Ins with a 2-0 loss to KRÜ Esports.
Sentinels nevertheless remained one of the eight partner organizations in VCT Americas for the 2027-2028 cycle. The organization’s announced 2027 group includes:
- Brock “brawk” Somerhalder, signed from NRG
- Francis “OXY” Hoang, signed from Cloud9
- Mohamed Amine “johnqt” Ouarid, in-game leader
- Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulala
The moves give Sentinels a new initiator and duelist after the organization’s 2026 campaign. Brawk’s signing also brings a recent world champion and Champions MVP into the team’s plans for the next VCT season.
