Everyone loves Jetpack Cat. That’s obviously the explanation for Overwatch beating a personal player count record. Or it has something to do with the game’s new Reign of Talon seasonal update, which obviously brought in a lot of features but it also brought in Jetpack Cat. Coincidence? Fine, yes, probably; we just really like Jetpack Cat.
“Overwatch: The Reign of Talon had a higher daily player count in its second weekend vs. launch weekend, the first time that happened since Overwatch 2 launched in 2022,” Blizzard proudly crows. “[That’s] about 16 cat years for you jet pack enthusiasts.”
Speaking of features for the current season, the devs of the hero FPS are also making sure that players are aware of the sub-roles feature that was introduced, which is described as a set of focused passives that are both character and main role-specific. The information can be found in-game in the advanced info panel, but the link above also outlines the system as well.
But hey, maybe you prefer to Overwatch on a mobile device? Then cast your peepers in the direction of Ovewatch Rush, an in-development top-down shooter from Blizzard that’s described as an entirely new game and not just a mobile port of the FPS. There’s a video below to outline where early development stands, while testing is currently relegated to certain countries.
Finally, we’ve got some Diablo II Resurreced news to share: The ARPG is celebrating the Warlock’s arrival with a hardcore mode race that challenges players to get to level 99 on the hardcore ladder, granting the first verified 300 winners their name engraved on a statue in Blizzard’s campus. The latest patch has otherwise run over a list of many bugs.
