SkyRen is an upcoming anime parkour racing MMO proudly using AI for art and music

Despite the fact that it has become synonymous with video game movement that treats actual movement like a loose suggestion, parkour is a real thing. It is a system for getting from point A to point B using the urban landscape as a series of stepping stones, which means SkyRen is a perfect parkour game if point A is saying “huh” and point B is saying “what.” See, it’s an anime-themed racing MMO that is using AI to generate its art and music!

The title’s Steam page adamantly states that all of the mechanics are hand-crafted but that AI is used to help create art, music, promotional, and community content. There’s also a demo available now if you want to give it a shot and see how the assuredly very hand-made gameplay feels when you engage with it. That is, assuming you didn’t see the “AI art” part and just get from point A (curiosity) to point B (disinterest) in a very straightforward fashion.
