007 First Light Dominates PlayStation Store’s Pre-Order Charts Ahead of Release

Well, we’re now less than a week away from 007 First Light, and IO Interactive must be quite happy with how the lot of you have responded to its efforts to give James Bond’s meteoric rise to infamy a fresh new perspective.

The game has topped pre-orders on the PlayStation Store in both the US and the UK, and we’re suspecting that the free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition and the bonus one-day early access might also have something to do with it.

Of course, there are other goodies thrown in too, but we suspect that this one’s success is more than that. For starters, it’s aiming to be the best Bond game ever, which is a lofty but achievable goal. Its PS5 Pro version is primed to make efficient use of Upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution from launch itself. We’ve also spoken at length about how this one could help James Bond become a more consistent presence in video games, similar to how the Arkham franchise is the first thing you think of when Batman titles are mentioned.

A look at James Bond’s early days is a great way to witness the beginning of something special, and 007 First Light could become the opening chapter of that story when it launches on May 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
