Even though VR has come a long way from th edays of the Oculus Go, it hasn’t quite gone as big as many folks hoped it would, although VR experience are pretty excellent if you can afford one. Luckily, there are a few modern VR experiences that don’t even require you to have a high-end gaming PC to play games like Half-Life: Alyx, so it’s perfect if you don’t want to spend a ton of money. There are also a lot of great gaming PC deals that include great games you can buy on Steam instead of grabbing them on the VR marketplace for specific headsets, so you can find some great deals.

Either way, VR headsets can get quite expensive, which is why we’ve collected some of our favorite deals below. It’s also worth checking out these video game deals for a few options as well.

Meta Quest 3S — $370 $400 8% off

The Meta Quest 3 is pretty great, but if you’re not really looking to spend that sort of money on a VR headset, then you may want to consider the Meta Quest 3S, which sits somewhere between the Quest 2 and the Quest 3. For example, it runs the Quest 3’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, so you get a lot of performance, but you get the older Fresnel lenses that run at a 1,832 × 1,920 resolution, which still isn’t too bad. The bundle also includes Batman: Arkham Shadow, which is great since you get a starter game.

HTC VIVE Pro 2 Headset + Controller — $886 $899 1% off

While the HTC VIVE Pro 2 is an ever so slightly older VR headset, it’s a solid option if you don’t want to go with the Quest. It has a combined 4896 x 2448 resolution, with a very respectable 120-degree field of view, and a very solid 90Hz refresh rate, which helps a lot with things like dizziness. The hand tracking is also pretty excellent, probably as good if not better than the Quest 2 or 3, and you have several ways you can wear the headset depending on how you want to use it. You see, much like the Quest, it can run in standalone mode that doesn’t require a connection to a PC, although the option for apps is much smaller, and the HTC VIVE Pro 2 really is made more for connecting with a PC.

More on VR deals

Just a few years ago, the biggest names in the VR headset market consisted of HTC and Oculus; however, in today’s market, we have numerous head-mount displays across various brands including HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung. Even Sony has thrown its hat in the ring in the form of the PlayStation VR headset. With the increased competition in the VR hardware market, the overall quality of headsets has become more polished, and the increasing number of headset options is excellent news for both gamers and deal hunters.

Typically, some of the best deals are found on third-party retailers, including Amazon and Walmart; however, the biggest names in the market, HTC and Oculus, have special promotions available on their websites. Most notably, both companies are providing drastic price cuts on their newer products, the HTC Vive Cosmos and the Oculus Quest, and in each case they are bundling an additional item alongside the headsets.
