We will say one thing about this one, it absolutely knows the kind of vibe it’s trying to convey from the very jump. Say hello to Vampir, an upcoming PC and mobile MMORPG from Netmarble that hangs its hat on “blood, horror, and sexuality” in a grim and violent world where there are no heroes to be found — least of all among the player characters.
“Set in a universe ruled by blood, desire, and destruction, Vampir features a dark vampire motif and richly stylized gothic horror setting that sets it apart in the genre. Players will encounter a cast of distinctive characters and powerful figures who shape the fate of the world, while exploring a deep narrative centered on conflict, ambition, and survival.”
In Vampir, players can select from five different classes, all of which are, interestingly enough, DPS only; players will instead have to rely on their bloodsucking vampire nature to absorb essence as the means of healing. The game also promises to provide ample ability for players to empower themselves through grinding and gameplay rather than buying upgrade materials, and while it promises plenty of PvE content, it also features an open large-scale PvP battlefield known as Gehenna where server populations are rotated periodically to eliminate one group lording over all.
The game is set to release on PC via the Epic Games Store and on iOS and Android mobile devices on Tuesday, October 27th, with pre-download available on the preceding Monday, October 26th. As is the case with other such titles, there are goodies to rake in for pre-registration, while a Q&A post shares some additional details about the game. We’ve also got one of the tamer videos to watch below; the uncut version on the game’s YouTube page is not exactly safe for work in a few ways.
