The Blood of Dawnwalker Showcases Tomb Raiding and Investigative Gameplay Ahead of Launch

We’re kind of regretting diving right into a fresh new look at Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of Dawnwalker (courtesy of IGN), given that it has only made the wait for its September Release more agonizing than it already was.

Nevertheless, it’s an interesting look at a dark and gloomy cave system that Coen explores with an understandably petrified NPC named Lazar at his side. The man’s lucky he’s got a caring brother who knows our protagonist, and the duo soon stumble upon an open space that doubles up as a tomb for a warrior who clearly had the respect of the armies she led.

There are murals on the wall that tell a very poignant story of her bravery before pointing Coen to her sarcophagus, where an interesting reward awaits. Of course, getting out of there isn’t as simple as it seems, and Coen is left facing a formidable foe who’s clearly quite comfortable using the swords it carries. Nevertheless, he emerges victorious before the scene cuts away.

We’re going to assume Coen survives, and with good reason. But the new peek shows level and quest design that looks quite polished, although we’d have liked to see more of the reactivity that the studio told us about. What we’ve seen probably isn’t the end of that quest, and we can’t wait to find out how Coen’s discoveries fit into the narrative sandbox that this title is bringing to us when it launches on September 3rd for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
