Star Wars Zero Company’s Final Trailer Teases High Stakes and a Special Clone Wars Cameo

After outlining its gameplay loop, right down to the tactics and base customization, Star Wars Zero Company has received its final trailer. It offers a bit more detail on the threat Hawks and his motley crew face. Check it out below.

Details are scarce, but the Fathom harness a plague of sorts to grant them powers. Naturally, Hawks wants to shut them down, which means various dangerous missions. At the very least, another beloved character makes a cameo: Captain Rex from The Clone Wars, who also appeared in Star Wars Rebels and The Bad Batch.

Time will tell what role he plays, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s relatively short, perhaps like Anakin Skywalker. Besides the grittier atmosphere and tie-ins with The Clone Wars, Zero Company’s main appeal is tactical combat. There are definitely shades of XCOM via the use of cover and Action Points, but each character can also build Advantage to activate Ultimate Skills and decimate the opposition.

Star Wars Zero Company launches on August 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A typical playthrough should take about 30 to 40 hours, though you might want to replay and explore different routes. You can also learn more about Operations and the unorthodox way (at least by tactical strategy standards) that Hawks can explore some planets.
