Salmon Man, a punishing platformer paying homage to Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, reaches PC VR and Quest this month.

Developed by Valem Studio (Detective VR), Salmon Man is a hardcore VR platformer rage recreation that is been in growth for the final three years. Your objective is to climb upstream utilizing solely a paddle for motion throughout a collection of physics-based challenges, and a single mistake can ship you again to the beginning. This is the teaser trailer.

Valem Studio is eager to emphasise the sport’s troublesome nature as you attempt to conquer this river, stating, “There are not any shortcuts, no cheats, and no mercy.” A demo is on the market for each platforms that options Salmon Man’s complete first degree, which will be accessed on Quest by becoming a member of the official Discord server or straight via Steam.

As for Valem Studio’s post-launch plans, the staff has a roadmap for Salmon Man that features collectible objects all through the sport. It is also hoping to introduce a good tougher ‘Lava Mode’ that unlocks after beating the sport, problem modes with the potential of time trials too. Different adjustments embrace further language localizations and a boss battle.

Salmon Man arrives later this month on PC VR and Quest with a $9.99 launch worth.
