Antti, the brains and brawn behind Road to Vostok, has penned a note to their new fans, thanking them for diving in while providing an update on the next couple of weeks.

Taking to Steam, the solo developer behind a game that’s doing pretty well, all things considered, thanked everyone who’s playing, confirming about 140,000 copies sold. With “zero marketing,” the launch has made enough to sustain the “entire development roadmap.”

However, that news is a tad bittersweet. Antti sifted through a lot of mail regarding the game, in which they hope to find issues to work on. Meanwhile, the pressing matter of a hotfix to address crashes on launch is going to take “a week” while the developer gets some much-needed rest and recovery.

“I estimate that it will take me around one more week once I have caught up with all the bug reports and I’m ready to start implementing certain hotfixes and tweaks for the release build. I already have a good bug category/priority system in place, and I have watched a lot of gameplay from the early access, so the plan for this first hotfix is pretty solid and well-thought-out.”

When you think about the fact that it’s one man at the helm, we’d say that it’s going to be as difficult as the harrowing experience that Road to Vostok brings to the table. Fortunately, it seems he’ll be taking a break, the first in four years, before starting on Build 2 (which brings an overhaul to the AI and other “major additions”).

We’re happy that this talented developer is pacing things out, even if it means having to wait just a little longer for Road to Vostok to really begin its journey towards full release.
