Star Wars fans have no shortage of new and upcoming stories set in a galaxy far, far away. The series returns to theaters with The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22. The Ryan Gosling-led Star Wars: Starfighter is set to be released in theaters next May. Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord wrapped up its first season on Disney Plus on May 4, and a second season is on the way. And don’t forget all the Star Wars books and comics filling in the gaps between your favorite films, shows, and video games.

Speaking of games — there are a whole lotta them on the horizon. They span genres, like a racing game and a few RPGs. They’re also all in various states of development, with some closer to launching than others.

To help you keep track of all the upcoming video game adventures, we’ve collected the latest news and updates on every Star Wars game publicly known to be in development. We’ll let you know what they’re all about, when you can expect them, and what platforms you’ll be able to play them on.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Release date: Oct. 6, 2026

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

Star Wars: Galactic Racer was announced at The Game Awards at the tail-end of 2025, and (barring any delays) will be released less than a year after that reveal on Oct. 6. It’s the debut project from Fuse Games, which includes several veteran developers who worked on Burnout and Need for Speed racing games.

Like those titles, Galactic Racer is an arcade racing game. It features a single-player campaign where you join The Galactic League, an underground racing group in the Outer Rim. You can also race others in high-stakes multiplayer races, and customize your repulsorcraft with various playstyles and cosmetics to ensure you cross the finish line in style.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer will launch with a standard, deluxe, and collector’s edition, the latter of which includes a model of a landspeeder and other goodies.

Star Wars Zero Company

Release window: 2026

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

Star Wars Zero Company is also expected to be released this year, though the developers haven’t revealed an exact release date. Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment have been developing it since at least early 2022. It was revealed in April 2025 in all its “Star Wars meets XCOM” glory. CEO and creative director Greg Foertsch worked on XCOM games at Firaxis and will bring that tactical gameplay expertise to Star Wars Zero Company. It tells an original story set during the Clone Wars. You lead a ragtag group (the titular Zero Company) on a mission given to them by the Republic.

After a studio visit, PC Gamer called Zero Company “Mass Effect but with turn-based tactics and permadeath.” In between story and side missions, you explore your base of operations, getting to know your squadmates along the way. Your customized protagonist will be safe, but the same can’t be said for everyone else in your party — too many injuries in battle can lead to their deaths.

Bit Reactor, Respawn, and EA have been quiet about Star Wars Zero Company since its reveal last year. Ideally, no news is good news in this case, and you’ll be able to get your hands on it by the end of 2026.

Star Wars: Eclipse

Release window: TBA

Platforms: TBA

The same can’t quite be said for Star Wars: Eclipse, which was announced years ago and hasn’t received any substantial updates since. Quantic Dream, makers of Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, revealed Star Wars: Eclipse at The Game Awards back in 2021. Like the studio’s previous games, it will feature a branching, choice-based narrative with multiple playable characters. It’s set during the High Republic, centuries before the mainline films. What, you don’t remember the High Republic? That’s probably because Disney and Lucasfilm sunsetted the storytelling initiative in 2025.

Eclipse and its developer have had a tumultuous pre-release period. After its reveal, a #BlackoutStarWarsEclipse boycott gained ground on social media, as fans took umbrage with the choice of developer because of workplace harassment allegations levied against the studio and its founder David Cage in 2018. (Quantic Dream won an appeal in 2021 that tossed out the lawsuit against it.) Reports in 2022 claimed that Quantic Dream was struggling to hire for the project because of those allegations. Star Wars: Eclipse also lost its lead writer in 2024, when Adam Williams left to form his own studio.

Quantic Dream confirmed in October 2025 that development was still ongoing for Star Wars Eclipse, the latest official word on the game. A source told Insider Gaming in April 2026 that, “the game, at this stage, is still looking to be years off from completion.”

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

Release window: TBA

Platforms: TBA

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is the most recent Star Wars game to be announced. It was revealed at The Game Awards in December 2025 and described as a spiritual successor to the turn-based, choice-heavy Knights of the Old Republic games, though it’s not a direct continuation of that series. BioWare fans, especially those who enjoyed the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, will want to keep their eye on Fate of the Old Republic as Mass Effect director Casey Hudson is leading the project.

“Fate of the Old Republic represents an opportunity to explore a contemporary vision of a definitive Star Wars experience, using state-of-the-art technology and game design, and an all-new story crafted specifically to deliver on the combination of player agency and immersion in Star Wars that was at the heart of KOTOR,” Hudson told StarWars.com. Some have speculated Fate of the Old Republic won’t be out until 2030 (and maybe on next-gen hardware), but Hudson said it will be released before then.

Star Wars Jedi 3

Release window: TBA

Platforms: TBA

The Star Wars Jedi games might be the best things to come out of EA’s partnership with Disney, so it’s no surprise a third one is on the way. The first game, Fallen Order, was released in November 2019 and its sequel, Survivor, in April 2023. In September that year, Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan let slip that work on an unannounced third game was underway. Around the same time, the director of the Jedi series Stig Asmussen left developer Respawn to form his own studio, Giant Skull. (It’s working on a D&D game.)

Asmussen had previously said he envisioned these games as a trilogy, and that’s how it’s going to play out: The third Jedi game was officially announced in 2024 and described as the “final chapter” by EA Entertainment and Technology president Laura Miele. As this is the last Jedi game for Kestis, you have to wonder if his days are numbered, especially when you factor in the whole Jedi Purge thing from the era when these games are set.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic — Remake

Release window: TBA

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Windows PC

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its Obsidian-developed sequel are widely regarded as some of the best Star Wars games around. As companies love going back to the well and remaking beloved games, it was only a matter of time before KOTOR got the remake treatment.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake was announced at a PlayStation Showcase in September 2021. Development was started by Aspyr, the studio known for remasters and ports, and in 2022 the project was taken away from Aspyr and moved to one of Saber Interactive’s studios, though it wasn’t specified which one at the time. (Both Aspyr and Saber were owned by Embracer at the time.)

In December 2025, Stephen Totilo reported Mad Head Games was spearheading development on the Knights of the Old Republic remake. He also discovered a remake of the second KOTOR was in development as recently as March 2025, but it hasn’t been officially announced yet.

Since the KOTOR remake was revealed, the (multiple) developers have said very little about it. The most recent update comes from publisher Saber Interactive’s chief creative officer Tim Willits, who told IGN in March 2026, “Yes, it is still in development. That’s all I can say.”

Release window: TBA

Platforms: TBA

Amy Hennig, best known for her work on the first three Uncharted games, joined Skydance Media in November 2019 to head its new gaming studio, Skydance New Media. In April 2022, Skydance and Lucasfilm announced that Skydance New Media were working on a new Star Wars game. Skydance called it a “richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story,” but did not delve into specifics about the project. Some have speculated it might be a revival of a cancelled Star Wars game called ‘Project Ragtag’ that Hennig led at EA, but that’s just a guess at this point.

That April 2022 announcement was the only thing we’ve heard about Skydance New Media’s Star Wars game. The studio is also working on a Marvel game, Marvel 1943: The Rise of Hydra, but that title has been delayed indefinitely.
