There really does seem to be a game out there for everyone, but maybe you felt like you were left twisting in the wind if your dream title was a multiplayer management sim that sees you forming a band, trying to record hit songs, and climbing to stardom. Well we’ve got some great news for you because that’s precisely what Road to Headliner is offering. Yes, really.
This free-to-play sim MMO (yes it calls itself that) is all UI-based, tasking players with every step of band management, from creating songs to marketing to booking venues and tours, all within a 12 week-long season to become the top band. Songs don’t appear to be generated so much as use an in-house algorithm that determines a song’s quality, while multiplayer features include potential rivalries or collabs.
Road to Headliner is currently in its third season right now, while its most recent major update introduced music festivals as a tour destination for bands to shoot for. The game can be played on PC browser and works “reasonably” on tablets, but is not available on mobile yet, and all that’s needed to fully play is to register, though it can be demoed beforehand too. It really is something that we can’t say we’ve ever seen or heard of before, but we’re most definitely up for something truly unique in our corner of the gaming world.
