Sophia’s murky origins are probably the most exciting thing about Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and that’s saying something given that this one’s taking the franchise in a new direction before she eventually meets Amicia and Hugo.
We were quite impressed by the combat trailer, and one of the things that had us very intrigued was a mysterious presence that seemed to hunt her from the shadows. Well, that could very well be a bigger deal than we’d originally anticipated, as the latest trailer is all about searching for the light when the darkness overwhelms you.
Of course, that could be an excuse to show off some gorgeous visuals in locations that deserve them, while the gameplay weaves in light via the mysterious sphere Sophia wields. Which we already know will play a role in solving the ancient temple’s puzzles on the Minotaur’s Islands. Maybe she’ll figure out why she’s seeing Theseus’s memories, as we learn more about how the prequel ties into the overall lore about the Macula. We’ll have to wait and see.
Helpful gameplay hint or not, the trailer’s definitely worth a watch, especially with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launching on August 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
