After months of coy responses and insisting that Grace Ashcroft is the protagonist in Resident Evil Requiem, it seems that Leon S. Kennedy’s inclusion has finally been confirmed. And where else should it happen but through a PlayStation Store leak? It all began with Bluewav on YouTube (as noticed by @Tylerpbel on Twitter), discovering the game’s cover art with an older Leon in the background.

If you pre-ordered the Standard Edition on PS5 and selected the timer counting down to its release, the auto-download menu would clearly show him in the background. Several others would report the same – even AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, who first reported on Leon’s inclusion, confirmed it to be the case. You can add IGN to the list as well.

Looks-wise, he appears pretty much the same as Resident Evil 4 and 6, except older. We can’t complain, honestly, especially since it makes him that much easier to identify.

Resident Evil Requiem will appear with a “new look” at The Game Awards on December 11th. There’s no better time for Capcom to confirm his inclusion ahead of the deeper dive next year or the game’s launch on February 27th, 2026. Maybe we’ll even learn about the potential inclusion of Rosemary Winters, as leaked by GameStop’s listing.

Playstation for real this time accidentally just leaked Leon in Resident Evil Requiem. Checked with some people to absolutely confirm this was real first, and it is. If you have the standard non-Deluxe Edition of RE9 on PS5, you can see this cover if try to schedule pre-loading. pic.twitter.com/yZv69ecd2u
