In an update on its Kickstarter page, multiplayer real time strategy title ZeroSpace has announced it will be launching into early access on July 20th of this year.
The announcement comes along with a slew of other updates on ZeroSpace‘s development. Developer Starlance Studios has partnered with GamerSky to publish the game in Asia, and it’s joined forces with Homeworld franchise veteran Aaron Kambeitz to improve the game’s visuals, starting with a complete overhaul of the Protectorate faction. Their units now sport a grittier, more realistic aesthetic rather than the more stylized StarCraft-inspired look they had before.
Other updates include tweaks to unit collision, campaign and UI updates, a dedicated tutorial experience for the MMO-inspired Galactic War co-op mode, and a very small tease of the robotic Xol faction. The devs also promise another demo during the June 15-22 Steam Next Fest, and there’s a new trailer showcasing the revamped Protectorate visuals.
We last checked in on ZeroSpace a bit over a year ago in our Not So Massively column, finding it generally enjoyable but a bit overly tropey and lacking in polish. With more than a year of additional development under its belt, the early access build should hopefully address the latter.
