A couple of weeks ago, we started reporting on Far Far West, an upcoming multiplayer co-op extraction FPS from developer Evil Raptor and EG7-owned publisher Fireshine Games that involves — and there’s no way to put this lightly — robot cowboys fighting through hellish monsters and strange storms with magic spells and firearms to scavenge loot, get out alive, and upgrade for the next run.
This week saw the shooter make its Steam early access release, and so far, it looks as if it’s doing pretty well: The studio has celebrated 250,000 copies sold in its first 48 hours, is currently enjoying an “overwhelmingly positive” Steam user review score, and has currently drawn in over 34K players on the platform in its last all-time peak just this Friday morning as we type this; we expect this number will climb over the weekend.
“It means the absolute world to us to see all of you enjoying your time in the Far Far West,” the devs write. “Thank you all for joining us on this convoy, and we can’t wait to show you what the West has in store for the future.” The devs have even shared a coupon code (250KCOWBOYS) to commemorate the milestone.
Meanwhile the game has kicked out a hotfix that has made updates to save file backups, buffed the XP of the bow weapon and specific spells, ramped up the HP pool of the Cryptic Saloon boss, and applies a lineup of bug fixes.
