Halo: Campaign Evolved did make quite a splash with that early access launch trailer, but it looks like the remake has run into a problem even Master Chief might be hard-pressed to solve.
Getting to dive into the action five days before the official release date has probably been a factor behind many of us picking up the Premium Edition, or perhaps upgrading on Game Pass. Unfortunately, it seems the former are being locked out of joining in on the fun, per reports by Insider Gaming.
Multiple users booting up the game have been told to wait for the official release date, leaving a lot of potential warriors frustrated at being locked away from tearing through Covenant hordes. It’s especially egregious considering that the upgrade isn’t cheap. Forking out an additional $20 on it only to be denied entry is an oversight that the developers are going to want to address satisfactorily.
Halo Support is looking into the issue and recommends quitting Steam completely, closing the launcher, and trying again if you’re on Steam. For Xbox and PlayStation, we recommend sitting tight while a fix is being looked into.
As for Standard Edition owners, Halo: Campaign Evolved is out on July 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
