Gamescom 2026 is Completely Sold Out of Exhibition Spaces

The German Games Industry Association and Koelnmesse – the organizations responsible for hosting the yearly Gamescom event – have announced that Gamescom 2026 is now completely sold out of all exhibition space. The organizers have confirmed the presence of several major companies from across the gaming industry.

Among the companies confirmed to be present at Gamescom this year are Bandai Namco, CD Projekt Red, Electronic Arts, Focus Entertainment, Krafton, HoYoverse, Tencent Games, Embark Studios, Konami, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Xbox, and Sega. The range of games that will be showcased at the event will include Metro 2039, and even the Songs of the Past expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

As for companies that might not be happy about missing out on exhibition space, the German Games Industry Association and Koelnmesse have confirmed that they are looking at ways and concepts that would help them expand the event even further for 2027. In a statement, Gamescom director Tim Endres celebrated the milestone and noted his appreciation for the mix of business and community-based experiences at the event.

“That Gamescom is completely booked up is a strong signal for the entire industry. We only just expanded the area last year, so are all the more pleased with the increasing demand. At the same time, we are continually developing Gamescom further and investing in new formats for fans and communities. It is precisely this connection of business and community experience that distinguishes Gamescom.“

Gamescom co-organizer and managing director of game at The German Games Industry Association, Felix Falk, spoke about how Gamescom 2026 is going to be the biggest iteration of the event so far thanks to events like Gamescom Opening Night Live, an expansion of the Awesome Indies show, and Gamescom’s own rendition of charity speedrunning event Games Done Quick.

“It is already clear now that Gamescom 2026 will be bigger than ever. Exhibitor demand is higher than it has ever been. Fans can look forward to a full program—on location in Cologne and in livestream everywhere in the world. Gamescom Opening Night Live, the expanded Gamescom Awesome Indies show, or Gamescom GDQ, which is celebrating its premiere this year: those are only a few of the highlights that raise anticipation for the world’s largest games event many weeks prior to the start.”

Gamescom 2026 will take place from August 26th to August 30th. The first day of the event will be dedicated to trade visitors and media, while the show will be open to everyone else on the following days. While it’s largely going to be an on-location event, there will also be plenty of livestreams to watch, including the aforementioned Opening Night Live showcase, as well as the Future Games Show on August 26th.

For those attending the event in person, the Gamescom event arena will include a variety of panels and programs, including a cosplay contest and a panel by DidYouKnowGaming, among other things. Generally speaking, the community spaces will be expanded over last year’s iteration of Gamescom in order to support fans, content creators, cosplayers, and international gaming communities.
