Upcoming first person shooter EVE Vanguard has now officially opened signups for its upcoming alpha test event that will run from July 7th to 20th. Titled Operation Avalon by newly renamed studio Fenris Creations, the event will give players a good idea of the game’s lore and the core gameplay loop of deploying to planets, fighting NPCs and other players, and then returning home to trade the spoils of war.
The game is now officially embracing its extraction shooter roots and will officially be leaving pre-alpha, having incorporated the sometimes brutal feedback of players in previous early tests. Developers hope that the additional layers of persistence and promise of a future link with sci-fi MMO EVE Online will prove to be a compelling draw. You can request access now via the game’s Steam page to be invited to the test this July.
Disclosure: In accordance with MassivelyOP’s ethics policy, we must disclose that Fenris Creations paid for our writer’s travel to and accommodation at EVE Fanfest. Fenris has neither requested nor been granted any control or influence over our coverage of the event. Special thanks to Joseph from MMORPG who shot me in the back while I was fighting some NPCs!
